“I like what I see, this is a young fighter to keep an eye on” - Manager Steven Feder

The spring, soon to be summer, temperatures aren’t the only thing heating up in Montebello, California in May.

Highly respected manager Steven Feder, a long-time fight fixture on the world championship scene, is excited for first bell on May 12 at the Quiet Cannon Country Club in Montebello, California.

Feder, who primarily works out of the famed Wildcard Boxing Club in Hollywood, (Feder and legend Freddie Roach are long-time, and very close, friends), knows how to spot talent having worked with numerous champions and contenders throughout his career.

The Thursday night, USA UFC Fight pass card will also feature a host of other, California-based, unbeaten fighters in action, looking to impress on this night. In short, there is a lot of Golden State talent looking to make their mark in Montebello on Thursday.

Kuchmenov traded the cold climes of Nalchik, Russia for sunny California to set up shop for his pro boxing career. Turning pro last year, he has been 3 for 3 and is looking to make it a perfect 4 for 4. He is also developing a following in Montebello as this will be his 3rd straight appearance in the Gateway City. The 5’ 10” boxer/puncher has showed great patience, good timing, and calm, measured attack for a boxer with only 3 pro fights.

MaxBoxing caught up with Feder to get his take on Kuchmenov who is making great progress as a pro.

“This is a great card, and I am excited to see Dariial back in the ring”, said Feder. “He has looked great in the gym, he’s looking forward to getting back in the ring and I expect another great win for him”, said New York native Feder who guided the career of lightweight Ray Beltran to a WBO world title win back in 2018.

Feder, sees a strong future for Kuchmenov, who has shown a great command of distance and timing in the ring in setting up his powerful right hand in previous bouts.

“Dariial gets great work at the Wild Card, working with some of the best fighters in the game, and great training”, said Feder. “He is being trained by Ernie Zavala who has a great eye for talent. He brought him to me and I can see what he saw in him. Ernie is doing a great job training this young, talented fighter”, said Feder.

“He is only 19 years old, he is young and only going to get better”, he said. “I like what I see, this is a young fighter to keep an eye on”.
