Former two-division champion Danny Garcia flashed faster hands and feet en route to a 12-round majority decision over Jose Benavidez Jr. at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, Saturday night.

Scores were 116-112 and 117-111 for Garcia. Judge Waleska Roldan was obviously watching another fight. His 114-114 tally?

Ridiculous.

For the record, Maxboxing had Garcia winning the fight 116-112,

In the opening stanza, Garcia boxed. He worked up and down. Benavidez landed a right.

Garcia, a notoriously slow starter, was the busier fighter. Benavidez jabbed. A combination followed. Garcia landed a blow to the body.

The smaller Garcia, making his 154 pound debut, came out jabbing in round two. He was sharp. Two counter rights scored. Benavidez, a step behind Garcia, was admiring his work. His occasional jab was scoring.

Benavidez finally caught Garcia (37-3, 21 KOs) with a right to the chin in round three. Garcia fought back, clipping Benavidez with a right hand. His jab was on point. His display of sharp boxing continued in round four as Benavidez (27-2-1, 18 KOs) grew frustrated.

In round five, Garcia drilled Benavidez with a three-punch combination. Benavidez punched back but missed.

The sharper Garcia boxed well in rounds six and seven. Benavidez was in full stalk mode, had been since the opening bell, but he wasn’t effective. He did clip Garcia with a couple of rights, but the blows had no effect.

Benavidez was more aggressive in rounds nine and 10. He caught a moving Garcia with shots to the head and body. Garcia responded with a sweet left hook and jabs. Benavidez wanted more in round 11, but Garcia continued to vary his attack,

Garcia mocked Benavidez in the 12th round and final round. He jabbed and moved, content to be slippery.

Pounded in the opening rounds, Ali Eren Demirezen turned the tables on Adam Kownacki. The Turkish heavyweight out fought Kownacki over the next eight rounds – leaving the popular favorite bloodied and troubled.

Scores were 96-94, 97-93, and 97-93 - all for Demirezen.
