Errol Spence Jr. and Yordenis Ugas countdown begins

In less than two weeks, IBF and WBO Errol Spence Jr, and WBA champion Yordenis Ugas will fight at AT@T Stadium in Arlington, TX.  

Spence has a remarkable resume so far - accumulating a record of 27-0, with 21 KOs. Victories over Kell Brook, Mikey Garcia, and Shawn Porter impressed. He was last seen in the ring 17 months ago decisioning Danny Garcia. Surviving a horrific automobile accident has given Spence, 32, a new perspective on life and his boxing career. 
 
Spence was scheduled to fight Manny Pacquiao but unfortunately had to pull out of the fight due to a torn retina. This paved the way for Ugas, 35, to play substitute for Spence and fight Pacquiao. 
 
Entering the fight an underdog, and on short notice, Ugas (27-4, 12 KOs) countered Pacquiao effectively. His patience paid off as Pacquiao began to tire late in the bout. Ugas took advantage, popping Pacquiao with right hands to the face. Showing grit and a lot of determination, Ugas, was oozing confidence by the end of the bout. The fight was his and he knew it. Ugas has lost one fight in the last eight years. Porter edged him by decision according to the judges. Maxboxing had Ugas winning the fight. 
 
Both fighters will have something to prove on April 16. Will Spence shut up the critics with a dominant performance? Will Ugas show that his win over Pacquiao was no fluke?
