Rising welterweight Alan Sanchez (20-3-1, 10 KOs) notched victory number eight in a row by consistently outworking tough Ramses Agaton (20-7-3,10 KOs) over eight one-sided rounds last night at a soldout Cache Creek Resort Casino in Brooks, CA. Agaton, a southpaw, came to fight, but Sanchez used his jab and accurate lead right hand to tattoo Agaton throughout the bout.
In the co-main event, light heavyweight Jose Hernandez and local favorite Ryan Bourland went at it for eight bruising rounds, with Hernandez coming away with razor-thin majority decision victory. Scores were 77-75 (twice) and 76-76. The match was fought at close quarters, with Hernandez (19-3, 9 KOs) landing a number of sneaky inside punches. Bourland battled back but it wasn’t enough.
Bantamweight Bruno Escalante proved too quick for Javier Gallo, stopping his opponent in round six after scoring two knockdowns. Escalante (17-3,1, 7 KOs) was sharp from the get go, clipping the aggressive Gallo (25-15-1, 13 KOs) with combinations.
Popular cruiserweight Blake McKernan (7-0, 5 KOs) remained unbeaten by capturing a six round unanimous decision Miguel Cubos. McKernan floored Cubos (11-15, 8 KOs) twice with body shots. Scores were 59-53,58-54, 60-53.
20-year-old Ivan Vergara (4-0, 2 KOs) easily defeated awkward Michael Gaxiola (4-13, 0 KOs) in a four-round super featherweight match-up. Vergara was efficient from the onset. Debuting Arnold Dinong (1-0) got his career off to a good start by outworking Tylor Marshall (1-5) over four rounds.
The bouts were co-promoted by Paco Presents and Don Chargin Productions.
