Figueroa And DeMarco Hit The Scales

By Marc Livitz reporting from San Antonio, TX: Omar "Panterita" Figueroa has undeniably taken full advantage of his rapid ascent across the boxing landscape. The south Texas native has become a fan favorite in the Lone Star State and tomorrow night, he’ll face a time tested ring veteran in Antonio DeMarco of Mexico in a nationally televised bout on the NBC network. Several other bouts will be shown across the broadcasting giant’s conglomerate of channels for a card which will likely give boxing fans over eight hours of action. The home of the San Antonio Spurs, the SBC Center will be the host site.

Additionally, fight goers will recognize many names on Saturday’s slate such as former heavyweight champion, Chris "Nightmare" Arreola and former welterweight title holder, "Vicious" Victor Ortiz. Blossoming talent such as Hugo Centeno, Jr., Terrell Gausha and Lanell Bellows will also be featured tomorrow evening. The participants took to the scales this afternoon for the weigh-in at the Hyatt Regency in downtown San Antonio.
