Gabe Flores Jr, is re-loaded and ready to rock the house in his hometown of Stockton, California, at the Adventist Health Arena, on March 16 where he will be looking to pick up another impressive win.

The card will also feature a couple of friends of Flores who have a last name boxing fans are more than familiar with - Vargas.

Under the lights that night will be multiple world champion and boxing legend Fernando Vargas who will be working the corner of 2 (of his 3) sons, Fernando Vargas Jr. and Amado Vargas, who will be both in chief support slots on the card.

Fernando Jr., at 13-0, with 12 KO’s, will step into the ring for the first time this year after 6 assignments in 2023. Amado, undefeated at 10-0 with 4 KO’s, will see action for the first time this year after 5 trips to the plate last year.

Flores is at an interesting time in his career. After starting as a red-hot teenager signed by Top Rank Boxing, he made his pro debut in 2017. After going 20-0 he stalled against (then-future) world champion Luis Alberto Lopez in September 2021. And, 2 fights later, he lost a UD to awkward, undefeated spoiler Gio Cabrera in the summer of 2022, putting him at 2-1 over 3 fights.

He rebounded in his last fight with an impressive 1st round KO over Derrick Murray at home in the Stockton Arena in May of last year.

Flores will be looking to build off the last win and bank another impressive victory in front of his hometown fans.

In pre-fight interviews, Flores made it clear he is happy to be back in front of a hometown crowd and is looking to impress once again.

“I gain strength from my people in Stockton. It motivates and rejuvenates me,” said Flores. “I am excited that a WBA title is on the line for this fight. That adds to the motivation, and I am always extremely motivated for each fight. This is the birth of something special, and I am excited for March 16th.”

A couple of other fighters will be featured on the card which should be a treat for fight fans.

Jessie James Guerrero (3-0-2, 3 KOs) of Gilroy, California will also see action. He is hoping to capture a world title one day to match his world-champion family member, Robert Guerrero.

Also, Sacramento’s own decorated amateur Lorenzo Powell will make his long-awaited professional debut. A highly decorated amateur, fight fans are excited to see what he can do in the paid ranks. People are predicting big things for him.
