The Black Eye Challenge - Lamon Brewster

Former heavyweight champion, Lamon Brewster is seeking the help of the boxing and non-boxing community. In an attempt to raise enough money to pay World Boxing Champions to “Mentor” young men and women. On January 1st, Lamon asks that you show your support to his non-profit organization www.brewsters.place by taking a selfie of yourselves, and posting that photo on your own social media platforms, holding up a coffee cup, and with the use of make-up, sport a black eye.

Brewster fought fifteen years as a professional boxer, banging out a respectable record of 35-6 (30 KO’s), During his career he had victories over the likes of Andrew Golota, Luan Krasniqi Kali Meehan, and in 2004 earned the WBO Heavyweight Title with a 5th round TKO victory over boxing Hall of Famer, Wladimir Klitschko. Brewster called a halt to his career in 2011 due to an eye injury.

Although he retired from boxing as a fighter, he didn’t retire from boxing. Brewster has used his boxing knowledge not only to train young fighters, but to mentor the youth in life as well. In 2015 he and his lovely wife Juana founded www.brewsters.place, a charity organization offering positive solutions to foster sustainable living to the global community by mentoring using the principles of boxing.
