Sheer Sports Management signs Adelaida Ruiz and Joel Iriarte

WBC Interim World Super Flyweight Champion Adelaida “Cobra Ruiz and amateur standout welterweight Joel Iriarte join Sheer Sports Management

 

Sheer Sports Management is excited to announce the signing of WBC Interim World Super Flyweight Champion Adelaida “Cobra Ruiz to a management contract.

Ruiz, 34 years old, born and raised in Lynwood, CA has an undefeated record of 14-0-1 (8 KO) and currently holds the WBC Interim Super Flyweight title, is ranked #1 in the WBA and is ranked #5 in the WBO.

 

“I’m excited to be signing with Sheer Sports. They have a great team and a great reputation for taking care of their fighters. I have no doubt in my mind that with Sheer on my side, I’ll be a champion in multiple weight classes,” said Ruiz.

 

Ruiz, a single mother of 3 turned professional at the age of 27 in Montebello, CA. The heavy-handed puncher climbed the rankings in women’s boxing at a fast pace winning her first world title in her 11th fight by knocking out Nancy Franco in front of a sold-out crowd in Pico Rivera, CA.

Sheer Sports was also pleased to announce the signing of top amateur welterweight Joel Iriarte to a management contract. Iriarte, 20 years old, and out of Bakersfield, CA, had an outstanding amateur record of 285-15. He was a 17-time National champion, 2015 Junior Golden Gloves Champion, 2016 Silver Gloves Champion, 2017 Western Regional Open Champion, and 2018 National Golden Gloves Champion.

 

“I’m making my dreams a reality by signing with Sheer Sports. I have the utmost belief that Sheer Sports will put me in a position where I can showcase my unique skill set and talent to the boxing world,” Iriarte said.

 

A heralded amateur on Team USA, Joel represented his country in the 2021 Junior Pan American Games, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 National Junior Olympics and the 2019 Bornemissza Tournament. The amateur standout began boxing at the age of 6 years old under the tutelage of the late Jose Cardenas. Currently he is trained by his father Cuauhtemoc Iriarte and is ready to leave his mark in the professional ranks.
