Professional boxing is back in Murrysville on September 16, 2023.

Gionta Management will host five fights at the SportZone Arena for Murrysville Madness V this Saturday night.

Promoter Derek Gionta has found a consistent home to host pro boxing with several returnees to this venue - as well as some new faces.

"We have another lineup of exciting fights Saturday night in what will be our second show here this year," said Gionta.

Local favorite "Maverick" Mike Conway (6-3-1, 2 KOs) will face off against Jose Marquina (2-2-1) from East Moline, Illinois in a six-round fight.

The two will meet at 135 lbs.

Conway has fought on every card at this venue since September 2021.

The co-feature of the evening includes a four-round super middleweight rematch between female fighters Mary Casamassa and Jozette Cotton.

Cotton has run off two victories in bare knuckles since their first encounter.

The 24-year-old Casamassa is coming off a thrilling 6-round decision victory over Scotland’s Christianne Fahey (4-1, 4 KOs) this past July - and looks to continue the momentum.

Having fought above the 160 lb limit three times, Casamassa will campaign as a middleweight.

Pittsburgh’s middleweight Paul Palombo (5-0, 1 KO) will see six-round action against durable Maryland native

Ryan Burrs (4-7-1, 1 KO) in what looks to be a very good fight on paper.

Palombo is also riding the momentum of a decision victory in July and hopes to impress in his fourth appearance at the Sport Zone.

Former amateur standout Chavon Stillwell (3-0, 3 KOs) of Mansfield, OH will face fellow Ohio native Latiss

Norman (4-6-1, 2 KOs) of East Cleveland in a four-rounder at a contracted weight of 180 lbs.

Norman has been a regular in Western Pennsylvania since becoming a pro. His last fight in June 2021 resulted in a draw against Joel De La Paz.

Ohio junior middleweight Treavon Craycraft (4-0, 1 KO) will meet journeyman Ramon Guevara (11-26-2, 6 KOs) of Grand Rapids in the opening four-rounder.

Craycraft won his fight last year at the Sports Zone and hopes to continue putting on solid performances for the Pittsburgh region.

"We hope to continue this series while developing young prospects into bigger opportunities on bigger stages," said Gionta.

Boxing in Pennsylvania has been thriving for the past two years, with consistent shows in Pittsburgh. Our goal is to bring it back to its former glory.
