Saul Alvarez Pulls Out Of Golovkin Rematch

Saul ’Canelo’ Alvarez has pulled out of his May 5 rematch with Gennady Golovkin in Las Vegas.

 

The news comes after Alvarez was suspended for failing a drugs test earlier this year.

 

The Nevada State Athletic Commission suspended Alvarez as he is scheduled to appear before them on April 18 after twice testing positive for the banned substance Clenbuterol.

 

WBO middleweight champ Billy Joe Saunders has reportedly offered to step in and face Golovkin if the fight date can be put back until June.
