Horn Comes Through Tough Test Against Corcoran

WBO welterweight champion Jeff “The Hornet” Horn, 18-0-1-(12), retained his title at the Brisbane Convention Centre in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia on Wednesday via an 11^th round tko win over Gary Corcoran,17-2-(7).

Corcoran made a positive start and gave Horn a few problems. Both boxers were cut Horn over the left eye in round six and Corcoran over the left eye in round eight..

Horn stole a march in the later rounds, upping his work rate. The fight was stopped after 1.35 of the 11^th due to a the cut over Corcoran’s left eye worsening. The score prior to the stoppage were 100-90, 99-91, 99-91.

It now looks like Horn will face undefeated American Terrence Crawford in Las Vegas next Spring.
