The world of Entertainment, Education, Arts, Politics, Sports, and much more, are celebrating the finest of their females for “Women’s History Month”.

MaxBoxing is pleased to feature Crystina Poncher.

To boxing fans the world over, she certainly needs no introduction. She is recognized and lauded as the ground-breaking, highly respected ringside voice for Top Rank Boxing and ESPN on national and international telecasts.

Southern California native Poncher arrived at the boxing world with a deep and varied resume.

Whether working as a correspondent on the NFL Network, a host for Fox Sports West and Prime Ticket or doing news spots for Fox Sports Flash, she was a natural in the world of sports. However, it has been in the (traditionally male-dominated) world of boxing where she has made her mark.

She is now seen as one of the very best behind the mic calling fights from ringside. However, the trajectory from a unique industry novice to a familiar and highly respected voice in the game was a steady climb fueled by a passion for excellence and an uncompromising work ethic.

Attention to detail and a commitment to deliver the very best product every night, and for every fight, has made the married mother of 2 young children a highly respected industry player and a favorite of fight fans.

Poncher has a love for many sports, but it has been in boxing where she has truly found her voice and developed into one of the very best behind the microphone.

Well into her 2nd decade with industry legend Top Rank Boxing, Poncher started out doing interviews, remotes and pre-and-post-fight special features along with developing into one of the very best voices calling the fights from ringside.

Poncher, who was only the 2nd female announcer to ever call a complete fight card, for Top Rank and ESPN, is also the lead voice on all ESPN+ undercards and handles the international calls as well.

Poncher finds herself working with boxing name brands like Joe Tessitore, Mark Kriegel, Bernardo Osuna, and former world champion fighters like Timothy Bradley.

Crystina is as friendly, approachable, and personable away from the mic as she is talented behind it. So, it is no surprise that her Top Rank and ESPN teammates love working with her. However, there are no broadcasting gender inclusivity boxes being checked here. If she couldn’t hold her own on fight night, she would have long ago been called on it, and fast.

But, her (male-dominated) broadcast partners feel honored to work with an outstanding industry voice. Period.

Poncher has opened the doors and created opportunities for other female talent to get on board and join her on fight night. World champions like Mikaela Mayer and Seniesa Estrada, among others, have found themselves ringside behind the mic, with an opportunity to work alongside Poncher.

She is a complete professional who prides herself on immaculate pre-fight preparation for each card. Crystina brings excitement, enthusiasm, passion, and knowledge to every fight card she calls.

Crystina makes a good fight sound great, and she takes a great fight over the top. As a fight fan, you can’t ask for anything more from the voice calling the action from ringside.

Now, 16 years after graduating from Cal State University - Long Beach, with a degree in Journalism and Broadcasting, Poncher keeps adding up the ‘wow-factor’ moments. From working ringside at Madison Square Garden in New York, or the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, or the Cotai Arena in Macau, China, to looking up and seeing her image towering over Times Square on the NASDAQ Big Board in New York as you host a star-studded media workout - the hits just keep on coming.

Something tells me, that for this premiere sports broadcasting personality, the list is just going to keep on growing.

In honor of “Women’s History Month,”MaxBoxing salutes Crystina Poncher.
