This Friday

Umar Dzambekov is looking for his 3rd win of the year! Miguel Estrada is looking for his first fight of the year. Throw in some “Sugar” and a “Right Hook” and you have a great night of fights.
Unbeaten light heavyweight prospect Umar Dzambekov (12-0, 8 KOs) returns to the ring for his third assignment of 2025 on October 3, in Santa Ynez, California, at the Chumash Casino.
The Russian-born fighter, who trains out of the famed Wildcard Boxing Club in Hollywood, California, will be appearing on the UFC Fight Pass network.
Dzambekov will face fellow Russian Artem Brusov over 10 rounds. Dzambekov must be on his game against Brusov, who comes in with power sporting a record of 13-1 (12 KOs). Brusov’s only loss was to unbeaten Philadelphia banger Otif Olberton (12-0, 10 KOs), who was 7-0 when they fought. Dzambekov has impressed with power and tenacity in the ring. While he turned pro in 2021, it should be noted that he had only two fights that year and didn’t fight in 2022 due to visa issues.
Then, after getting the administrative part of his career cleared up, he got busy in 2023 and has been on a fight-every-3-months schedule ever since.
The light heavyweight division is packed with top-rated fighters, but Dzambekov is hoping he can crack the top 10 or 15 soon to get himself in a position for a significant fight.
Dzambekov is in good hands with trainers Marvin Somodio and Pepe Reilly guiding him; Somodio has referred to Dzambekov as “A world champion in the making”.
He’s big, he is strong, and he is starting to turn some heads. Keep your eyes on him.
Also, in action that night at the Chumash Casino is undefeated prospect “Sugar” Cain Sandoval (16-0, 14 KOs) of Sacramento, California. He will be facing rugged Philippine fighter Jino Rodrigo, who comes in at 13-5-2. Despite a few losses, Rodrigo has never been stopped, has been in with some very good fighters, and will be a real challenge for the Freddie Roach-trained Sandoval. A good step up for Sandoval.
And, also clocking in that night is undefeated Roxie Verduzco (5-0, 1 KO), who faces Mexican Perla Lomeli 7-5, 1 KO). Of her 5 losses, 4 were to undefeated fighters. Lomeli is a tough veteran who will be a good test for “Right Hook” Roxy.
Speaking of October 3 - that same night, undefeated Canadian Miguel “The Pretty Boy Assassin” Estrada returns to the ring for his 3rd pro fight. Also trained out of the Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood, the unbeaten London, Ontario, Canada native got in 2 bouts last year, in Nicaragua, and looked good mixing boxing skills with power. He is young and just getting going, but is showing some great potential.
Training at the Wild Card can only do good things for him, and he’ll be looking to show his progress with every outing. He clocks into work at the Seneca Resort and Casino in Buffalo, New York.
All in all, things are gonna get Wild (Card) on October 3rd.
