The “Shu Shu” show heads to the Lone Star State

Brooklyn-born, Nevada-residing Bruce “Shu Shu” Carrington, undefeated at 13-0 (8 KOs), is as hot as there is in the game for soon-to-be title prospects.

And, he is making a quick turnaround. Fresh off an impressive decision win at the end of September over rugged Sulaiman Segawa, he will return on the Mike Tyson – Jake Paul card on November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Texas. Carrington will face Australia’s Dana Coolwell (13-2, 8 KOs).

The card will also feature Mario Barrios and Abel Ramos for the WBC world welterweight title and Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor having a 2nd go-round for the undisputed world super lightweight title.

This is a big platform, and that is fine with Carrington, who never met a big stage he didn’t like. And under the bright lights he delivers - “Shu Shu” brings skills and thrills every time he steps into the ring.

While the undefeated Carrington will be the favorite, it is no gimme win. This will be Coolwell’s 6th undefeated fighter he has faced and his only 2 defeats were very close SD losses.

Carrington, who trains under Kay Koroma at Knuckleheads Gym in Las Vegas, has been perfect since turning pro in 2021 and this will mark his 4th outing of 2024. The huge event will be a great chance for more exposure for “Shu Shu” as he plots his path toward a title.

Carrington is polite and friendly out of the ring but you don’t want to mess with him in it. He can box or brawl and if he gets you hurt, look out - he is a great finisher. Under the expert guidance of Koroma, “Shu Shu” has an adept defense that is always on point. As for offense, Carrington is developing into one of boxing’s great counterpunchers.

Carrington is from the same Brooklyn neighborhood that produced the likes of Tyson, Zab Judah, Riddick Bowe, Shannon Briggs, and Danny Jacobs, among others. So for “Shu Shu”, fighting on a Tyson card is a good fit and a nod back to his old stomping grounds.

As he expressed recently, he is excited to bring the “Shu Shu” show to Texas.
