That move is to race… not walk or jog, race to William Morris Endeavor, the entertainment industry talent agency juggernaut Devin signed with in January to provide outside-the-ring representation. Why?

Because they can be poised to immediately secure an elite team of attorneys to rep Devin should Ryan Garcia’s B sample return as positive. Why?

To sue the panties off, Ryan. Why?

Because Devin Haney took a horrific career and life-changing beating at the guilty hands of an unremorseful maniac who intentionally, willfully, and wantonly built up his stamina and physique with illegal substances, to wit: steroids.Ryan’s actions were deliberate and egregiously dangerous. Boxing is a job and provides the livelihood of both Haney and Garcia. All monies flow from their performances. Haney went into their bout in perfect harmony with the “clean hands” doctrine: Those seeking equity must come with clean hands.

In other words, Haney must have conducted himself legally to recover monies from Ryan’s dirty hands. Why sue now?

(1) Because Ryan is cash rich right now. He may have earned as much as $75M in the last 12 months. But Ryan burns through cash faster than Manny Pacquiao. Sue and settle with his ass while he’s flush with cash because the settlement will never be more generous than right now.

(2) Because the quicker Ryan puts out this fire, the better it is for his image, brand, and career. A quick settlement with the Haney’s would include a Non-Disclosure of Terms Clause that would forever bar the Haney’s from discussing the settlement.

(3) Because if the Haney’s do not sue, they will be kicking themselves in the ass for the rest of their lives should Devin prove to be damaged goods going forward. It’s a smart business move and a very shrewd financial move. The Haney’s could reasonably expect to settle in the $20M-$30M range.
