Boxing from Albuquerque, NM
2020 Olympic Trials winner Abraham Perez looks to remain unbeaten this Saturday when he takes on unbeaten Isaac Angulano (3-0, 1 KO) in his hometown of Albuquerque, NM.
The card will consist of 11 fights promoted by Legacy Promotions.
Perez (4-0, 2 KO) captured the 2021 Olympic trials, yet due to the format by USA Boxing, Perez was not allowed to represent the USA in Tokyo, Japan. Perez defeated his opponent Anthony Herrera twice at the trials.
Both Perez and Herrera were invited to pre-Olympic training sessions. Herrera was chosen over Perez.
Fighting in his backyard, Perez is facing his toughest opponent to date in Angulano. Perez’s father/trainer
Aaron feels his son will get a good test and looks to keep him busy with tougher opposition going forward.
“I want to keep Abraham busy, but also step it up each time out. Yes, he did take a few less experienced opponents, but this was to keep him busy and not stale,” said Perez.
Perez is known as a boxer, but he does have power. He focuses more on boxing. The fighters camp knows he can hit, but Abraham wants to box, knowing the knockout will come.
“We know he can punch he just likes to box," said the elder Perez. Hopefully, people will think he doesn’t hit hard and get caught."
The undercard will feature a crosstown battle between Kathrine Renee Lindenmuth and Amanda Lovato. The two have been friends and sparred against each other - but have put their friendship aside for the fight.
Heavyweight Leonid Grachev will look to go 5-0 when he takes on Manuel Eastman.
The rest of the card will feature other locals to fill out the remaining eight fights with many pro debuts on the slate.
