Light heavyweight prospect Umar Dzambekov in action July 22

This is certainly the case of ‘someone’s 0 is gonna go’ as Dzambekov enters the ring with an unblemished 5-0 resume himself.

On July 22, Los Angeles resident Umar Dzambekov from Austria will go up against New York’s Kwame Ritter, who is undefeated with a 10-0 record.

This is certainly the case of ‘someone’s 0 is gonna go’ as Dzambekov enters the ring with an unblemished 5-0 resume himself.

The 2 light heavyweights will be fighting on promoter Tom Loeffler’s card at the Chumash Casino in Santa Ynez, California. The fight can be seen on USA UFC Fight Pass.

Manager Steve Feder is very high on Dzambekov and likes what he sees outside the ring as much as he does inside. Dzambekov shows the work ethic and dedication that Dzambekov’s Wild Card-based trainers Marvin Somodio and Pepe Reilly require of their fighters.

Under the watchful eye of Wild Card’s Hall of Fame head trainer Freddie Roach, there is little patience for anyone who isn’t bringing an uncompromised work ethic to the gym – something Dzambekov has displayed since his debut in the summer of 2021.

After going 2-0 in 2021, Dzambekov was out for 2022 clearing up visa issues. This will mark his 4th bout of 2023, leaving room for possibly 2 more bouts before year’s end. This is something that pleases Dzambekov who wants to stay busy, develop, and move north in the rankings as soon as possible.

Feder, who has been around a lot of world-class fighters, knows the time and attention that it takes to move a fighter from novice to world rankings. So, Feder indicated that sometimes it can be a daunting task to think about taking on a new client from square one. However, when he saw Dzambekov, he knew this was a fighter that was going to progress quickly, and had the whole package – speed, power, good movement, and the mandatory Wild Card factor, “an exceptional dedication and work ethic.”

This is a fighter with world championship potential, a fighter to keep your eyes on.

Next viewing, is July 22 in Santa Ynez, California.
