Juggernaut Joe Joyce keeps rolling, stops Joseph Parker

Parker needed to find his second wind, but Joyce wouldn’t let him breathe.

He’s never pretty, but Joe Joyce is relentless and powerful. 

 

Joyce proved it again with an emphatic stoppage of Joseph Parker at Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.

 

Time was 1:03 seconds into round 11. 

 

In round one, the massive Joyce (271 pounds) jabbed several times. Parker looked to fire right hands and jab. He landed a right - and went to the body. 

 

London native Joyce,37, continued to force the action in round two. He was using his heavy jab to set up Parker. Parker,31, fired a combination. 

 

Joyce (15-0, 14 KOs) landed a left hook that stunned Parker in round three. He followed up with heavy blows. Parker scored with an uppercut. 

 

As the round came to a close, Parker cracked Joyce with fast hooks. 

 

Parker scored with a right in round four. He jabbed at the body. 

 

Joyce’s jab continued to score points. Parker countered a jab. His right landed big, but Joyce just looked at him. 

 

Parker (30-3, 21 KOs) got off first in round five. The relentless Joyce mauled him near the ropes. Parker looked winded. 

 

Joyce came out punching in round six. He landed a solid left to the chin. Parker countered with hooks to the body and head. Joyce fought back - landing an uppercut. His strength advantage was paying dividends. 

 

Parker cracked Joyce with hooks in round seven. Joyce blinked and moved after him. 

Joyce scored with a glancing blow. Parker came back with a right but was soon on the ropes. Joyce clipped him again - Parker was bleeding from a cut over his right eye.  Joyce landed a straight right in round eight.

Parker was fading.  He needed to find his second wind, but Joyce wasn’t letting him breathe. Parker landed a left but ate a big right. 

 

In round nine, Parker, likely behind on the scorecards, let fly with a combination. Joyce ignored it and stayed close. He jabbed and popped Parker. 

 

Parker landed a super uppercut, but Joyce fought back. Parker scored to the body. Joyce, unmarked, plowed forward. 

 

Joyce forced the gutsy Parker into the ropes in round 10 and worked him over. 

Parker scored with a sweeping hook and double lefts.

 

Six minutes to go in the fight. Joyce came out firing big shots in round 11.

 

A huge left hook dumped Parker along the ropes. 

 

Parker got up, but the bout was over.
