In a do-or-die fight as far as their prospective pugilistic careers go, Joseph Parker, who defeated Derek Chisora by a smidgen in their first fight, repeated the feat by a much wider margin at the AO Arena in Manchester, England Saturday night.

The ringside judges scoring was ridiculous: 115-110, 115-111, 114-112 all for Parker. Not sure what bout they were watching.

Maxboxing had Parker winning the match by a 119-108 tally.

Parker (29-2, 21 KOs) came out punching in the opening stanza. Chisora bobbed and weaved.

Parker caught Chisora (32-12. 23 KOs) with a right hand. Zimbabwean-born Chisora fought back, but Parker countered with a left-right. Chisora connected with a right in round two. Parker fired left hooks, an uppercut, and several right hands buzzing Chisora.

Parker continued to sharpshoot in round four. Chisora jabbed - his corner had told him he could outlast Parker. An uppercut and left caused Chisora to roll into the ropes. The referee called it a knockdown. Parker tried to end it, but the extra tough Chisora fired back.

Super sharp Parker moved to his left and flicked out his left in round five. Chisora walked inside and went to the body. Parker clipped Chisora with another right, followed by body shots.

Chisora came out punching in round six but walked into an uppercut. Parker uncorked several one-twos. The former heavyweight champion fired multiple jabs in round seven, followed by a couple of lefts that connected. Parker landed a three-punch combination that floored Chisora for the second time. The warrior rose at six and went to the corner. Parker measured him, but Chisora battled back.

Parker clobbered Chisora with a right in round eight. Both fighters were tired. Parker cracked Chisora with a yes, another uppercut that caused Chisora to stumble into ropes for the third knockdown of the fight.

Chisora survived to hear the bell. Parker tried to finish him in round nine. He fired hooks, but Chisora took them and countered. Parker cracked him constantly during the stanza. Parker fired lefts in round 10. Chisora would need a knockout to win. No way he’d stop trying. Parker worked. Chisora was loading up his overhand right - the punch had floored Parker in their first fight.

“Two left,” said Parker’s trainer Andy Lee to his charge.

Chisora came out punching in round 11. Parker landed a chopping right.

Chisora connected with a left and hard right. Parker’s jab was probing. He ripped Chisora with a right hand to the temple.

In the 12th and final round, Chisora walked forward and punched. Parker connected with a combination on the exhausted as Chisora winged shots, but it was Parker with the edge as the crowd roared its approval.

“He’s one tough guy,” said Parker with a grin. “He just keeps coming.”
