WBA lightweight champion of the world Jennifer Han took care of business Saturday night by defeating Colombia’s Paulina Angel in a tough 10-rounder.
Her win sets up a likely fight against Albuquerque’s Holly Holm in November, either in the famous Pit or El Paso’s Don Haskins Center, Holm’s hometown.
Holm, who returned to boxing after a stint in MMA, was ringside for Hans’ defense.
Han 10-0 (3 KOs) has seen her life change drastically since winning the title. She is an El Paso police officer, the mother of two, and a world champion.
“Probably the most stressed I’ve felt. But no matter what, I still get my workouts in and do what I got to do. No excuses. Wouldn’t be able to do what I do without my family,” stated Han
Trainer Lou Burke from Las Cruces sees Han ready to go, but life has changed for her.
“She’s looking good, ready for a tough battle, winning the title has created and opened opportunities. The doors of opportunities are now there for her, her part is opening up the doors and taking advantage of the opportunity’s”
