Lubin the sharper fighter from the opening bell
In round one, Lubin, a southpaw, jabbed and jabbed some more. Rosario, 26, pursued Lubin but ran into a few lefts. Rosario looked to uncoil his powerful right. Lubin fired combinations in round two. Rosario countered with a right. Lubin was busier. He jabbed to the body and head.

Rosario tried to up the ante in round three. Lubin, the quicker fighter, continued to box. He connected with a straight left to the gut. He followed with a right hook. A combo buckled Rosario’s knees. Lubin (24-1,18 KOs)was beating Rosario up. He dug to the ribs. Another combination backed up a wobbly Rosario. Lubin connected with two lefts in the opening seconds of round four. Rosario (20-3, 16 KOs) fired a right, but landed a left. He went to the body. Lubin kept jabbing.
Rosario seemed to hurt Lubin late in the stanza with a stiff jab.

Lubin landed an uppercut. Rosario fired a combination. Lubin moved to his left and let fly with lefts. Both landed. Lubin went right back to work on round six. He worked the body and head. His rhythm was back. A left-right combination, followed by a stiff jab, collapsed Rosario. The former champion beat the count but was obviously hurt. Lubin took advantage. He uncorked a left that sent Rosario to the canvas for the second time.
