Tri-Star Boxing’s popular middleweight Eric “Juggernaut” Draper returns to Oak Grove Racing, Gaming, and Hotel on Saturday, August 20.

Draper makes his second appearance in Oak Grove, KY as he seeks to run his win-streak to a dozen. The Murfreesboro, TN resident has stopped his last seven opponents in four rounds or less. The Bourbon & Boxing Series at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming, and Hotel has been filled with thrilling slugfests and dazzling knockouts.

Draper, 19-10-1 (12 KOs), will box in the eight-round main event. He will be stepping into the ring for the first time with new trainer, Bill Taylor, a once top-rated kickboxer and owner of The Bushido School of Karate in Murfreesboro.

“I’ve been working with Eric since his last bout,” Taylor said. “His work ethic and discipline amaze me. In the gym, I always use him as an example for my younger fighters. We are expecting a great fight on August 20. He’s facing a twenty-two-bout veteran who we are not taking lightly. I think Eric is going to look even sharper this time out.”

Draper had this take on his developing work with Taylor.

“We’ve been focusing on boxing more,” Draper stated. “Being more defensively responsible when pressuring my opponent. The biggest thing with Bill has been head movement. Somethings I do occasionally, but need someone there to remind me. We work more rounds in sparring to try to improve everything. Age is just a number and I’m looking forward to putting on a show.”

Lexington’s Samantha Worthington will also compete on the card in a women’s welterweight bout guaranteed to get the Kentucky faithful out of their seats. Worthington is scheduled for four rounds.

“I am so excited about August 20,” Worthington said about her ring return. “This has been a long time coming. I’ve put the work in; now it’s time to go to work and show the boxing world that they can’t take ‘The Heat’.”

A pair of Nashville-based boxers will also showcase their talents on the card. Unbeaten super flyweight, Ryan Shaw seeks his next victory in a four-round bout. Also, Kerry James Jr. will be fighting in a six-rounder in the super lightweight division.

Connecticut’s promising heavyweight prospect Fernely Feliz Jr. seeks his fourth professional win in a bout scheduled for four rounds. Several other four-round bouts are scheduled for action to round out the card.

Walter Waite, the in the ring voice of Tri-Star Boxing, will be back announcing the card as it unfolds at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming, and Hotel. Tickets may be purchased at WWW.TRISTARBOXING.COM. Click the Get Tickets button. Doors open at 5:00 PM.
