Daniel Dubois makes light work of Ricardo Snijders but now looks ahead to a showdown with Joe Joyce
Explosive heavyweight Daniel Dubois (15-0 14 KOs) put away late replacement Ricardo Snijders (18-2, 8 KOs) in round two at BT Sport Studio in London, Eng. Saturday night.
Think a moth versus a tank.
Dubois will fight undefeated rival Joe Joyce in October. Joyce knocked out Michael Wallisch last month.
Time was 20 seconds into round two.
In the opening stanza, Dubois,22, stalked while Snijders, who’s record showed only a single loss, stepped to his left and jabbed. Dubois went to the body and head with combinations. A crunching left hook sent Snijders to his knees. Seconds later he was down again. Dubois went right back to the body and Snijders was floored for a third time near the end of the heat. The outgunned Snijders bravely beat the count but the end was imminent.
Dubois wasted no time in round two. He backed Snidjers into the ropes and went downstairs. Snijders was on his knees seconds later. The referee quickly waved off the fight.
