Now in his 3rd year as a pro. Brooklyn-born Bruce Carrington will look to add to his perfect dozen (12-0, 8 KO’s) record on September 27 when he hits “The Big Apple” for his 3rd assignment of 2024. This will be a home game for the New York-born fighter who lives and trains in Las Vegas.

Considered one of the best prospects in the sport, Carrington brings both steak and sizzle to the ring. He can box, he has power, and he is defensively very sound. He also doesn’t mind bringing a touch of Vegas to the proceedings - he likes to entertain in the ring.

Carrington turned pro in the fall of 2021 and banged off 10 straight wins over his first couple of years. By February of this year, he was wrapping an IBF International featherweight title around his waist when he stopped vastly more experienced (18-1) Bernard Torres in the 4th round.

Heading into his fight in the Big Apple, Carrington will be facing Sulaiman Segawa who has beaten a lot of strong contenders in building an impressive 17-4-1 record.

In an August chat with MaxBoxing, at Knuckleheads Boxing in Las Vegas, Carrington was excited to be going back to his New York home for a bout. And, if he has his way, he will be contending for a world title before too long.

The well-spoken, friendly Carrington has star-potential written all over him and the next 12 months could see him breaking into title contention.

“It’s not really time, or the number of fights I have had”, he said. “It’s about how I am feeling and I think I could be ready for a title shot next year”.

As far as fighting in one of the world’s most famous arenas - Madison Square Garden, that is always good with “Shu Shu”.

“This will be the 6th time I have fought at Madison Square Garden as a pro. The guy I am fighting is experienced and this is a step up,”, he said. “But, I am looking forward to getting back in the ring. It is always great to fight at home in front of my family and friends”.
