Abraham Perez was set to fight Jose Angel Perez this coming Saturday for the WBC Youth Flyweight title.
That all changed Friday when it was learned Perez was having visa issues.
Now, Perez will now face Gilberto Mendoza.
Change of opponents is nothing new for Abraham Perez.
In his previous fight last April, he took on the tough Joronil Borres, who was also a last-minute replacement.
“It’s just business as usual for me. Nothing has changed in my thought process,“ said Perez at the Perez Gym Tuesday.
“My game plan is the same as always. See how things go the first round and then make my adjustments," he added.

“Sometimes it’s a bummer when you prepare and then the opponent changes. It’s part of boxing, but I still have a job to do and that’s the mindset I will have," Perez said.
Perez, the 2020 Olympic trials Flyweight winner, will look to improve to 8-0 in his young professional career.
In undercard action, Christian Cabral will return to the ring after being away for four years.
Two Women’s fights will share the stage as Kathrine Lindenmuth (4-1), will take on MMA, and the tough Theresa Day and Jordanne Garcia 4-2-3, take on Citialli Ortiz (3-1).
Cesar Alvarado 2-0, battles Sterling Peak also (2-0).
Daniel Gonzalez 3-1 and Shadi Shawwareb (9-3) will go at in a welterweight 4-rounder.
Rounding out the card will be Martin Armijo(2-0)vs Joshua Reyes (3-1)
Elija Martinez (1-0) vs Garret Lopez (2-3).
