Megafights have a habit of creeping up on you. In this case, Sergey Kovalev has entered the closing stages of a relatively abbreviated training camp for his marquee clash with Canelo Alvarez next week.

 

Russia’s WBO light-heavyweight champion only retained his belt against a plucky Anthony Yarde in August and, following a short break, returned to the gym to prepare for pound-for-pound contender Canelo, who is stepping up in weight.

 

Perhaps as a result of that, Kovalev is looking sharp in the gym.
