Quebec native Anber has one of the most recognizable and successful boxing equipment companies in the world.

This year is a big one, in a career of big ones, for boxing’s Russ Anber.
In 2026, we’ll see him inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in June. This year also sees the release of his book, “Unrivaled- A Boxing Memoir” (Paul Harrietha/Curtis Press).
Anber, a lifer in the sport, has a story worth reading. The passion, dedication, and professionalism he brings to boxing is indeed unrivaled and author Harrietha is here to tell his story.
The book also includes a foreword from fellow IBHF author Thomas Hauser.
Quebec native Anber has one of the most recognizable and successful boxing equipment companies in the world. He started “Rival Boxing” in his home province of Quebec, Canada, in 2003 and has since expanded to Las Vegas in 2014, the UK in 2017, and Australia in 2019.
While the business might be boxing equipment, his business is the sport and the fighters.
For his entire adult life, Russ has been working with some of the sport’s very best boxers. If there is a big fight somewhere in the world, there is a good chance that you will see Anber in the corner of one (or more) of the premier fighters on the card.
Anber has trained and been in camp with the very elite of the sport.
Coaching and conditioning everyone from novice-level amateurs to working with Canada’s Olympians, to working with countless world champions at the professional level, Anber has done it all.
What is great to see is the passion and enthusiasm he brings to all stages of a boxer’s journey. I have seen Anber working small, club-level amateur and professional shows. He brings the same infectious enthusiasm to those shows as he does a big assignment in a legendary arena.
Anber is also in high demand as a cut man and expert hand wrapper for many world champions. With hands being the tools of the trade, expert wrapping is vital to the safety and success of a fighter in the ring. Anber is unrivaled in this role.
All of the skills that Anber brings to the corner were learned from great trainers, his role models from the past. These include (friend) Angelo Dundee and more legends like Freddie Brown, Ray Arcel, Eddie Futch, and Gil Clancy.
Another role of note is Anber’s stint as host (along with co-host, the late Darren Dutchyshen) of the popular and outstanding boxing show, “In This Corner with Russ Anber”. This was one of the best boxing shows to ever air. It was seen on “The Sports Network” (TSN), Canada’s premier sports station. Broadcast nationally, it was a fabulous show that was ‘must-see TV’ for Canada’s fight faithful. The show had a great run before going off the air - much to the chagrin of dedicated viewers. (I would love to see the complete series released on DVD)
Names like Otis Grant, Vasily Lomachenko, Roy Jones, and Oleksandr Usyk are just a few of the (dozens of) championship names on a resume that runs as deep as it gets in boxing.
This memoir allows Anber to recognize and thank the people who have shaped and helped him. It also allows the boxing world to shine a light on truly one of the very best in the industry.
Canada is his home, but he is recognized the world over as being as good as it gets in the sport.
Cut man, corner man, conditioning, coaching, businessman, boxing man - his story is unrivaled.
Check it out.
