The Atlas father-son team is a strong one-two punch. Teddy Atlas has been the man behind the mic for one of boxing’s most popular podcasts for the last few years. When his son Teddy (3rd) came on board things got even hotter.

While the younger Atlas doesn’t have the boxing background of his legendary father (few do), a trainer of multiple world champions and voice for ESPN for decades, he is no stranger to elite-level professional sports.

A long-time scout and talent co-ordinator in the NFL, Teddy knows about working with the best of the sport.

While their “The Fight” podcast is rolling along, Teddy is fast adding to the Atlas brand and making it a go-to for all things boxing. The pair recently launched “The Ropes,” which is giving boxing and sports fans in general a home for some exciting new ventures in the sport.

Teddy has been a well-known face in the sport for decades after emerging from the Catskills in New York, where he was apprenticing under the tutelage of legendary boxing man Cus D’Amato as a young adult.

But, it is his son who is making some serious moves to make “The Fight” and the new “The Ropes” the place to be for an up close and personal experience around, and on, fight night for some of boxing’s biggest bouts.

Speaking with the younger Atlas from his Las Vegas home, he seemed genuinely enthused and excited for what they are building for fight fans.

“We are really looking at building a community feel and approach to our newest addition - The Ropes, he said. “One of the things that we are offering is a chance for fight fans to engage one-on-one with my dad, he continued. “And, it can be on any number of topics from fight picks, to more personal questions related to mental and physical health, dealing with the pressures of life that often mirror pressures that fighters face.

The senior Atlas has long said that so much of the struggles of a fighter can be compared with any fight in life, be it personal or professional. So much of what we find success or struggle with is based on the choices we make.

Atlas has long preached that 75% of a fight is mental. His great success in the sport has come from his ability to approach the fight as a teacher to his fighter, and teaching is all about connections and communication. Fight fans now have that same opportunity to connect and communicate with a master in the sport.

“We are going to have live Q and A’s around fights and the sport in general. We are having fans be able to be part of a live, chat group who connect with my father on fight night and be part of his commentary as he covers the fight.

Imagine breaking down a fight card with a legendary trainer and commentator, a Hall of Fame member. This is exciting stuff for fight fans.

I’ve known Teddy Atlas for decades, long before he was the man in the corner for multiple world champions and the face of ESPN boxing every Friday night. And, I can tell you, if he is invested in something, he is all in.

Fight fans who become part of the Atlas community will be a part of a legend who is invested in his fans and colleagues. Breaking down fights in real time with Teddy Atlas - this is amazing news for fans of either boxing, Teddy Atlas, or both.

Another very interesting venture that is emerging for members who like to wager on fights is the opportunity to get advice on odds, the over/under, and all the tips you need to make a financial score on fight night.

If there was ever a sport that was hard to predict for real money, it is boxing. Atlas, who, with his son, goes over all the odds and opportunities, is currently coming in at an almost 90% success rate, so he certainly knows his predictions. Why? This father-son duo knows the sport, the matchups, and the most likely outcome, often a surprising (see: well-paying) pick before first bell.

Atlas is also offering fight enthusiasts an opportunity to train live or virtually, with the man who has been in the corner for some of the sport’s biggest stars in their biggest bouts.

“This part of our platform has really had quite an amazing response,” said Teddy. “We have had people from Poland, Ireland, the UK, Brazil, Mexico; it’s really quite something, "he said.

If that isn’t enough news on the Atlas fight community, the younger Atlas is currently working hard to get the pieces in place to complete a movie made about his famous father. If the trailer (that was shared with me) is any indication, this is going to be groundbreaking stuff. The movie will hit hard and engage people far beyond a boxing ring.

Tentatively titled "Teddy Atlas - We all Fight for Something," the wheels are in motion to get this project completed, and it is truly going to be a story worth seeing. Atlas’s life has indeed been a story that needs to be told.

A great start was his 2006 autobiography - “Atlas: From the Streets to the Ring: A Son’s Struggle to Become a Man”.  But, this movie will take an already engaging, moving and incredible life story over the top.

And, if you want to look good while all this is going on, Team Atlas has a new brand of clothing out in his “Fireman” and “36 Minutes to Make Life Fair” line. T-shirts, Hoodies, Track Suits, Shorts, Jackets - you name it.

The Teddy Atlas endorsed signature brand and line of clothing references the struggle in the length of a fight (36 minutes) to face and conquer your fears in the ultimate chamber of truth - the ring.  The “Fireman” line references his now legendary between-rounds speech to his former world champion, Timothy Bradley Jr.

A lot is going on in Camp Atlas, and it is all good news for fight fans.
