Munguia, now trained by Freddie Roach, after previously training with former world champion Erik Morales, is hoping an impressive win over the tough Ryder can lead to a Canelo matchup.
Left-handed Ryder did beat Daniel Jacobs on a split decision. He had lots of moments against Billy Joe Saunders. He’s a thorough pro and is a fair judge of distance and has decent head movement.
Ryder got more active in round six. He landed several rights. Jacobs stepped in and scored with the old one-two. He repeated the execution seconds later, but he looked gassed.
