By Juan Carlos Gutiérrez in Mérida: The World Boxing Organization (WBO), in coordination and with the assistance of the Boxing Commission of Mérida (CBM), carried out the weighing of the three regional title fights Saturday in this city, the card is promoted by A & T Promotions.

 

In WBO middleweight Latin championship, the Mexican Elias Espadas (16-3-0 11 kos) and the Brazilian Felipe Santos Pedroso (15-3- 0 13 kos), weighed 72,300 and 71,700 kilos, respectively, and were declared fit to fight.

 

In turn, the WBO Latin champion, the Surinamese Tyrone Sponge (10-0-0 10 kos) and the Brazilian Carlos Ailton Nascimento weighed 105 kilos and 94,300 kilos, respectively.

 

In the remaining title fight, the hard puncher Colombian Roamer Alexis Angulo (22-0-0 19 kos) and his challenger, Evert Bravo (24-7-1 8 kos), also from Colombia, weighed 76,100 and 75,800 kilos, respectively.

 

The weighing was endorsed by the WBO representative in Mexico, Rafael López Santos, with the support of the commissioner, Manuel Nájera and the medical body of CBM.

 

 

In a 10-round featherweight contest, the Mexican Rubén García weighed 57,300 kilos and his compatriot, Julio Cruz, weighed 57,000 kilos.

 

Also, the Cuban super middleweight, Leider Peña, weighed 77,700 kilos, for 78,900 of the Mexican José "Barretero" Mex, with whom he will fight in a scheduled duel with 10 laps.

 

In other matches, with eight featherweight rounds, the Mexican (Sinaloa) Eduardo "Lalo" Torres weighed 60,600 kilos for 60,300 of his opponent Ezequiel Betancourt (Quintana Roo), while at the same distance, the Kazakh-German Juergen "Doberman "Doberstein weighed 72,200 kilos for 71,500 of the Mexican William Vega (Quintana Roo).

 

In a six round fight of Mexicans, the flyweight Ivan "Sonrics" Ramírez recorded 49,700 kilos for 49,900 of Juan Aguilar, and the Mexican American Jorge Marrón weighed 66,400 kilos for 62,500 of the Alfonso " Dynamite "Torres, who will have a duel over six rounds.

 

The Mexican Rubén Orozco, in turn, weighed 72,800 kilos for 71,400 of Antonio "Bicho" Martínez in a six rounder, while the American debutante of Cuban origin, Anthony Martinez weighed 90,600 kilos for 93,300 of the Mexican Sebastián Palacios (Mexico City) in a fight scheduled to four rounds.

 

Also to four rounds, in duel of Mexicans and Quintana Roo, Marco Sanchez weighed 68,900 for 67,600 of Juan Díaz and Noé Larios registered 74,600 for 74,500 of José Mendoza in fight also agreed to four chapters.

 

The duel between Mexican flies, Roque Mex and Humberto "Chato" Morales (Veracruz) will not take place after the first one went overweight and by not reaching an agreement with his opponent’s team, the fight was suspended.
