ESPN have today reported that Tyson Fury has allegedly failed drug test with VADA, last week, with the banned substance being cocaine.which has come back positive from the test.
Whilst the reports are unconfirmed as of yet, and no one from Team Fury has come out and made any statement in regards to the accusations - ESPN’s claims are very detailed and meticulous. Unlike, for instance, the ongoing claims of Fury’s failed drug test with UKADA.
If this indeed is the case, then Tyson Fury will most likely be stripped of his titles, and, also given a rather lengthy lay off by way of a ban from the sanctioning bodies. What it means for the titles thereafter will make for an interesting development.
It has been a frustrating tenure for Fury since doing the impossible and winning the titles from Waldimir Klitschko with an absolute masterclass, but, it has been far from smooth sailing for the Brit since. Facing backlash from the British media, causing stirs with his outspoken nature, his failed shot at winning SPOTY, and, of course, the called off rematch with Klitschko scheduled for July leading us up to all of the more recent ongoings.
Either way it has been a demoralising journey to follow from the outside watching Fury.
We await comments from Team Fury and from VADA themselves to confirm or deny the circulating reports. More as and when we get any updates...
