Three Titles At Stake In Merida

Miami, Florida based promoter A & T Promotions, presented their last press conference today prior this Saturday’s boxing event at the Polifórum Zamná, Mexico´s south east traditional boxing city where three WBO regional championships will be at stake.

Promoter Andrew "Andy" Pérez led the press conference with local and national media emphasizing his hopes for three rising boxers, middleweight Elías Espadas, heavyweight, Tyrone Spong and supermiddleweight, Roamer Alexis Angulo.

Espadas (16-3-0 11 kos) will face Brazilian Felipe Santos Pedroso (15-3-0 13 kos) in a bout scheduled to go 10 rounds for the vacant WBO´s Latino middleweight belt, while Sponge, a former kickboxer (10-0-0 10 kos) will defend his Latino heavyweight belt against Carlos Ailton Nascimento, also from Brazil (16-5-0 12 kos).

Colombian Angulo (22-0-0 19 kos), whom Perez considers his closest boxer to a world championship bout, faces Evert Bravo (24-7-1 16 kos).

"This will be an emotive and well balanced card where fans will enjoy a mix of good boxing skills and power, we´ll have three title bouts with people who maybe this year will be facing world title bouts, but besides, there will be other 11 fights with the best Cuba rising talents from Miami and this part of México.

“I´m enthusiastic about what A&T will show yucatecan boxing fans this Saturday", said Pérez, accompanied by prestiged cuban trainer and manager, Pedro Díaz.

Taking his turn with the microphone, Espadas recognized he expects a hard bout with Pedroso in although the south American added that the event will be defined by a knockout, since both have many stoppages both have in their records.
