Just a few days ago, April 20th was announced as the date for an anticipated doubleheader at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California (
.maxboxing/ponce-de-leon-vs-mares-signed) but now Schaefer is in the process of shifting his schedule around.
"Obviously, we have (Abner) Mares and (Daniel) Ponce done and we almost have (Marcos) Maidana and Josesito (Lopez) done and we’re going to find another date for that doubleheader and that’s what I’m working on. I really can’t tell you more. I’m going to be talking to the venue- meaning Home Depot Center- to look at availability and the TV network and so on. I’m going to be juggling all of these dates."
One date that’s being mentioned is May 18th( which was originally thrown around as a destination for a bout between Lucas Matthysse and Lamont Peterson). But this much is clear, Golden Boy is putting together a blockbuster spring ledger.
"I’m so busy, it’s crazy," said Schaefer, who still has to fill out his May 4th undercard.
