Solis Tames Saglam In Cuxhaven


Former WBC heavyweight title challenger Odlanier Solis, 20-1-(13), scored a seventh round stoppage win over Yakup Saglam in Cuxhaven, Germany on Saturday night.

 

Solis decked Saglam with an ovarhand right hand in the seventh round and the bout was stopped. Solis successfully defended his IBF intercontinental title

 

On the undercard light welterweight Ignacio Mendoza, 37-7-2-(23), from Colombia scored a unanimous 12 round decision win over Ramon de la Cruz, 13-7-2-(7). Mendoza decked De La Cruz in round two, but was put down himself in rounds four and six. Mendoza. The 117-111, 117-111and 114-111 scoreline did not reflect how tough the fight was. Mendoza claimed the vacant IBF intercontinental title.

 

Selcuk Aydin,25-2-(18), made a successful return to the light welterweight division when stopped Aaron Herrera , 25-3-(17), in round eight.
