Stephen Simmons will be facing one of the toughest tests of his professional career next month when he travels to Kiev to fight for the WBO Inter-Continental cruiserweight title against current champion Ukrainian Olexsandr Usyk in Kiev.
The fight is scheduled to take place on Saturday 23rd April in the Sport Palace in Kiev.
Simmons´ last contest was in January where he comfortably beat Lithuanian Remigijus Ziausys over six rounds.
“I´m absolutely buzzing for this fight,” Simmons said “I can´t wait to get in there and cause an upset. I´ve been training hard and my weight is great so I´m raring to go.
I have been training at MGM Scotland and sparring is being scheduled by Gary Jacobs, we will heading south in the next couple of weeks.
It is going to be a hard fight but it´s a fight that will propel me to the next leveland just a step away from fighting for a world title.”
