Shumanov Forces Altunkaya To Retire After 9 Rounds

Beibut Shumanov,18-2-(12), returned after a two year layoff at the Barys Arena in Astana, Kazakhstan on Saturday to claim the vacant WBA ‘regular’ cruiserweight title via ninth round retirement win over Hizni Altunkaya, 30-2-(17).

 

Shumenov decked Altunkaya a left hand to the body in the first round and again in the ninth before Altunkaya’s corner stepped in to stop the fight.
