British light heavyweight boxer Scott Westgarth has died in hospital after feeling unwell following his 10 round points decision win over Dec Spelman.

The 31-year-old from Newcastle, who won the bout by a score of 95-92, reportedly collapsed in his dressing room a short while after the fight and was rushed to hospital. Both boxers were knocked down during the bout, Spelman in third round and Westgarth in the 10th.

Scott, 7-2-1-(2), who was 31 years-old, was hoping to fight for the English title.
