Q And A With Lucas Browne

Anthony Wheeler talks to Lucas Browne 23-0-(20) ahead WBA heavyweight title challenge against regular champion Ruslan Chagaev 34-2-1-(21) in Russia on March 5.

Q- How are you finding Russia Lucas?

LB- Russia was very nice and cold, I’m now in Grozny and i am being treated like a Movie star!

Q- How do you see the fight with Chagaev unfolding?

LB- He will come forward like he always does and I hope to use my reach and strength to keep him off. It will be a good war.

Q- Do you think you will stop him?

LB- I’m prepared to go 12 rounds, you never know what can happen.

Q- What is your take on the announcement that professionals will now be able to box at the 2016 Olympics in Rio, are you tempted?

LB- No not at all.

Q-With the heavyweight scene bubbling nicely what is your plan if all goes well against Chagaev?

LB- I think the WBA has the tournament in place either way so I’ll be fighting Oquendo then the winner of the other rounds.

Q -So potentially close to a massive fight against Tyson Fury or Wladimir Klitschko. Who would you prefer to face?

LB- Fury.

Q- I have seen that you have some beef over Social Media with Deontay Wilder what started that all and is he another option for you in the future?

LB- I would love to knock his head off his shoulders yes. I hate smart ass people, and he is a real smart ass and isn’t all that talented either.

Q- You and Tyson Fury seem to have a mutual respect for each other, what’s your opinion of him?

LB- He’s fine, he’s a great boxer and a real entertaining person.

Q-Do you think the Wladimir Klitschko rematch pans out the same, has Father time caught up with him?

LB- I think that Fury just has what is needed to beat Vlad that’s all.
