Mikey Garcia And Sergey Lipinets Hit The Scales In San Antonio

By Marc Livitz in San Antonio, TX: On Saturday evening at the historic Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, unbeaten fan favorite Mikey Garcia will take on Sergey Lipinets for the IBF Junior Welterweight title. With a victory, the Oxnard, California native will capture his fourth world championship in as many divisions. A crisp Spring afternoon welcomed a few hundred fight fans to Main Plaza in the always festive and colorful downtown district of the Alamo City. The fourteen fight card kicks off tomorrow afternoon just after 4pm local time and the Showtime Extreme network will showcase selected bouts beginning at 7pm CST.

The two headlining bouts, which feature Garcia and Lipinets as well as a rematch for the vacant WBA Junior Welterweight belt between Rances Barthelemy and Kiryl Relikh. Those two particular contests will be broadcast beginning at 9:15pm on ‘Showtime Championship Boxing’. Local talent will share the night with various fighters from different pockets of the planet.
