Mike Alvarado stops Saul Carrol

On Saturday night 35 year old Mike Alvarado (35-4-24KO’s) made his return to the ring after his defeat to Brandon Rios last January. Alvarado was looking to shake of the ring rust by facing Saul Carrol of Agua Prieta, Sonora,Mexico.

Alvarado started to press the action from the first bell, but Carrol soon adjusted and began to let his combinations go. Carrol’s workrate took the first round and Alvarado went back to his corner with a reddened face.In the Second round Alvarado started to take the centre of the ring and tried to dominate the action. Alvarado rocked Carrol with a right hand as the second round unfolded.

In the third round Carrol bravely tried to get back into the fight but Alvarado was too strong for the Mexican fighter. Carrol’s brave effort’s came to an end at 1:25 round three after Alvarado stopped him with a crushing straight right hand.
