Marcel Rivers Defeats Derrick Whitley Jr In Philly

Marcel Rivers, 7-0-(4), out-pointed Derrick Whitley Jr, 4-1-1, over six rounds at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia on Friday.

The scores were in a competitive fight Rivers rallied late on to claim the win on all three judges cards by scores of 58-56.

In a clash at bantamweight Alejandro Jimenez, 4-0-1-(1), from New Hope, and Edgar Cortes, 6-4-1, battled to a six-round draw. The scores were 58-56 for Jimenez, 58-56 for Cortes and 57-57.
