Anthony Joshua retained his IBF heavyweight crown at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England on Saturday night with a calm, calculated and mature workmanlike performance against outclassed American Eric Molina.
Joshua, 18-0-(18), needed less than three rounds to take out Molina, 25-4-(19) to set up an April 29 showdown with former world heavyweight champ Wladimir Klitschko in front of 80,000 people at Wembley Stadium in London, England.
Joshua landed a series of heavy punches to force Molina to back off in the opening round but the champion managed to catch up with Molina after 2.02 of the third round when he landed a massive straight right to drop Molina in his own corner. Molina managed to rise instinctively but a combination of lefts and rights landed once more and Molina turned his back, forcing the referee step in and stop the fight..
