Jose Uzcategui looks to impress in non-title bout vs. Ezequiel Maderna

In June, the IBF ordered Jose Uzcategui(27-2,23 KOs) vs. Caleb Plant(17-0,10 KOs) due to James Degale relinquishing his belt. Plant broke his hand, causing the fight to be postponed.

Uzcategui is a relentless pressure fighter, as he showed against game contender Andre Dirrell(26-3,16 KOs). Dirrell had never been stopped prior to facing Uzcategui. The Venezuelan super-middleweight makes any opponent uncomfortable.Similar to Gennady Golovkin, he cuts off the ring extremely well, and never takes a breather at any moment. On facing Maderna, Uzcategui said, “Please pay attention because tomorrow we are going to see the best 168-pound world champion tomorrow.”

While Uzcategui faces Maderna, super-middleweights Jesse Hart(25-1,21KOs), Caleb Plant, and Gilberto Ramirez (38-0, 25KO) will be waiting for their opportunity to face the tough Venezuelan champion.

Speaking on prospective matchups, Uzcategui said, “I’m very excited to face my mandatory (Caleb Plant). It can be Ramirez or the other guy (Jesse Hart). I will be very happy to fight them.”

Uzcategui does not care who he fights, he simply likes to be in the ring and perform for the fans.

Maderna gets the opportunity of a lifetime on friday, and said, “Tomorrow you will all see what I am capable of and I am very sure I will be victorious tomorrow.”

He will be getting his “Rocky” moment versus Uzcategui, and it will be interesting to see if he can prove to be a tough customer for the IBF World Super Middleweight Champion.
