Jones Jr Bows Out Victorious In Pensacola


At the age of 49-boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. ended his 66-9-(47) , career by scoring a 10 round unanimous decision over an outclassed Scott Sigmon, 30-12-1-(16), in a cruiserweight bout at the Bay Center in Pensacola, Florida on Thursday


Jones, who has won world titles at middleweight, super middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight in a 29 year career, was always in charge against the 30 year-old, who just could not match Jones Jr for workrate and speed. The scores were 98-92 on all three judges cards.


Speaking after the fight, Jones announced he fought with an injured bicep.


On the undercard junior welterweight Devin Cushing won a six-round unanimous decision over Tommy Bryant and emale lightweight prospect Ikram Kerwat outpointed Angel Gladney over eight rounds.
