Jones Forces Hall To Quit/Davies Schools Scarpa,Taylor Wins Debut

American junior middleweight Carson Jones claimed the vacant WBC Silver title after forcing Ben Hall to quit on his stall due to a shoulder injury at the Wembley Arena in London On Saturday.

 

Jones, who previously fought Kell Brook for the IBF welterweight title and defeated Brian Rose in London, proved just a little too lively for the for the British prospect. Jones improved to 40-11-3-(30), Hall drops to 9-1-1-(2).

 

On the same Matchroom promoted card junior welterweight Ohara Davies, 14-0-(11), scored a 12 round unanimous decision win over Andrea Scarpa, 20-3-(10,) to relieve Scarpa of his WBC Silver title. The scores were 120-108 on all three cards.

 

Former female amateur start Katie Taylor made a successful professional debut by forcing a third round stoppage against Poland’s Karina Kopinska. The time of the stoppage was 0.59 seconds of the third session.
