Is Amir Un-Khan-cerned About His Legacy?

Junior welterweight power puncher Breidis Prescott (23-2, 19 KOs) remains hopeful that someone on Amir Khan’s team will finally convince their young champion to do the right thing.

Prescott says that instead of squabbling about purses and trying to convince unknown fighters to face him for lousy money in a forgettable fight, Khan should give fans the world over what they’re overwhelmingly asking for - Prescott vs. Khan II.

"Is he really so unconcerned about his legacy and reputation that he’ll continue this sad campaign to shame unknown fighters into the ring with him for chump change? Does he read what the boxing world is saying about what he’s doing?"

Khan’s latest opponent, Marcos Maidana, recently put out a press release about claims that potential foes are pricing themselves out of fighting Khan. "...he always has the money excuse prepared to be thrown out in case boxing fans and TV networks pressure him to face big challenges," Maidana said.

"I’m beginning to agree with Maidana on this one," continued Prescott. "I’ve been saying I’ll be reasonable about money from the start. None of the other opponents he’s been chasing after will make for a fight half as intriguing and lucrative as our rematch would be."

For those who don’t recall, Prescott gave Khan a leather-made sleep aid in 54 seconds in September 2008 at the M.E.N. Arena in Manchester.

"Amir, you still don’t have an opponent. Stop these games and act like a champion. If you’re having so much trouble making fights that no one cares about, call me and you’ll have an easy time making a fight the entire world wants to see!"
