Both WBO junior bantamweight champ Naoya Inoue and IBF junior flyweight titleholder Akira Yaegashi retained their titles in Tokyo, Japan on Sunday.
Unbeaten Inoue (10-0, 8 KOs), who was making his second defense decked David Carmona (17-2-4, 6 KOs), from Mexico, in the 12th round before gaining a unanimous decision win by scores of 118-109 twice and 116-111.
On the same card Three-time world champ Akira Yaegashi (24-5, 12 KOs), was made to battle thoughout the 12 rounds against Mexican Martin Tecuapetla (23-5, 15 KOs), before nicking a split decision. Two judges made the champ the 116-113 and 115-113,whil the third official saw Tecuapetla the victor by a score of 113-115).
