Heavy Haye Weighs In

Former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye weighed in a career high of 16st 3lbs but was still lighter than Australian opponent Mark de Mori.

Haye, 26-2-(24), who was 17lbs heavier than when he last fought against Dereck Chisora over three years ago, faces De Mori in his comeback fight at the 02 in London on Saturday night.

De Mori, 30-1-2-(26), topped the scale at 17st 5lbs 8oz.

Haye had said earlier in the week that had “been packing in food as much as I can. I used to diet down a lot; the ethos in my own training camps was to get as light as possible and come in around 15st.” Haye added: “I would lose a stone just by cutting down my food as the general consensus back then was the lighter and faster”.
