According to reports Dave Coldwell for Hayemaker Promotions has secured the right to stage the highly anticipated British super-middleweight title grudge match between champion James DeGale and challenger George Groves.
Coldwell reportedly won the right to stage the fight with a staggeringly high purse bid of £400,000. DeGale’s promoter is said to have bid £320.000. Haymaker has two weeks to confirm a venue and date for the fight.
DeGale, an Olympic Gold medallist and Commonwealth champion Groves have been bitter rivals since their amateur days and the match up is expected to be the domestic match up of the year
Groves was scheduled to fight in Liverpool this Saturday but has been forced to pull out after suffering an injury.
