Flyweight prospect Jonathan “Bomba” Gonzalez, 20-2-1-(12), scored 10 round split decision win over former world title challenger Ricardo “Meserito” Rodriguez, 16-6-(5), at the Osceola Heritage Park Events Center in Kissimmee, Florida on Friday night.
At the end of 10 highly competitive rounds Gonzalez was judged the winner on two cards, 95-94 and 96-93 while the third card read 95-94 for Rodriguez. Rodriguez dropped to one knee in round three, which ultimately cost him the fight as the knee was counted as a knock down.
On the undercard Antonio Vargas outscored Luis Saavedra over six rounds in a super bantamweight bout and Jeyvier Cintron out pointed Edson Noria, also over six rounds at bantamweight
